How it all began
Words by their son Dakota Hunt
“I am inspired to help share the beautiful work of art that both my mother and father have co-created 25 years ago!”
Ever since I was once a kid in diapers, there has always been this magical glass table that sits in the living room, making you feel like you are a part of the ocean. It’s one of those tables where you don’t rough house next to it. All though, my brother and I never listened to that rule, looking back we probably put my mother through hell when we would decide to wrestle in the living room next to this table. It wasn’t until later in my life when I really started noticing and appreciating this table that has been in my life forever! I finally asked about the table, finding out that my mom and dad made it. Which lead me to asking my folks, “Have you guys ever thought about making more of these? People would love to have one in their homes. They are so special!”
It re-sparked one of the many idea’s and dreams that my dad always has had inside of his heart, which is to make a business out of this passion of his! Not only does he love making them, my mother loves interior designing and this has sparked interest in my mother as well. In my eyes, this would give my mother Kim a creative outlet and it would be way easier on my dad’s body to build tables rather than doing hard construction at the age 62, which he has been doing for more then 35 years in the warm sun in Melbourne, Florida. My dad is facing lots of aches and pains these days and I am on a mission to help find a way for him to work for a few more years doing something he loves and easier on his body!
I am so honored to help my mom and dad to build this business and start a new passion project. I think to myself sometimes that it is us, young people, sons, and daughters that can help to collect the wood to build a fire for our parents with their visions and dreams.
